Help with the cost of a bike

To help more people in Scotland choose cycling instead of the car for shorter journeys, the Scottish Government has made funding available. 

Available Funding in Scotland

The interest-free eBike loan is repaid over 4 years and entitles households to:

  • Two ebikes to the value of £3000 each
  • One family cargo or ecargo bike to the value of £6000
  • One adapted cycle (value assessed on a case-by-case basis)

You could also ask your work if they offer a tax-free Cycle to Work Scheme to help with the cost of buying a bike. This can cut the cost by up to 40%. If your work doesn’t already offer it, you could encourage them to sign up!

Or you’ll find plenty second-hand for sale online or even for free at FreecycleScotland Cycle Repair also provide free repairs and maintenance for those who otherwise couldn’t afford it.
