What’s here
Scotland's Commitment
We’ve made a commitment to reach net zero emissions by 2045. This means we'll put no more harmful gases into the air than we can remove.
By tackling climate change and protecting nature, we're not just saving our planet - we're building a cleaner, healthier and more prosperous Scotland for everyone. And we’re making sure this change works for everyone, no matter where they live or what they do. We call this a 'Just Transition' - a fair move to a more sustainable future that leaves no one behind.
What’s the plan?
The Scottish Government has clear goals to reach net zero. These goals are set out in Scotland's Climate Change Act 2019 and are a top priority in our Programme for Government.
