The National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) has launched registration for its ‘Manufacturing a Net-Zero Future’ conference, taking place in person on Wednesday 3 November in Renfrewshire. The free one-day event will see leaders from industry, academia and the public sector discuss the crucial role of the manufacturing industry in response to the climate emergency.

Delegates will also have the opportunity to take part in ‘hot topic’ panel discussions around subjects such as resource efficiency, design, and skills for green jobs and explore recent technology innovations and cutting-edge research and development work in a dedicated exhibition space.

As the world trains its eyes on Glasgow and COP26 comes to the city, the conference offers those within the manufacturing community the opportunity to learn, create valuable connections, and be inspired to make a difference within their company and the wider industry.

Speaking about the conference, NMIS Chief Operating Officer Sarah Jardine said:

“Scotland boasts a proud manufacturing history, and with the world’s eyes on Glasgow for COP26, now is the time to start a meaningful conversation about manufacturing a net zero future. At NMIS, we are perfectly placed to bring together the wider manufacturing community, including business leaders, the public sector and academia, to help shine a light on the way forward for our industry and we’re excited to see what the day holds”.
