With record heat, wildfires and severe flooding being reported across the planet, and a huge international climate change conference coming to Glasgow, climate change seems to be rarely out of the news lately.

Many of us will have heard the buzzwords ‘Climate Emergency’, ‘Net Zero?’ and ‘COP26’. But what does it all mean? And what impact does it have for life here in Scotland?

Join Keep Scotland Beautiful for this informative webinar where we’ll demystify the jargon and explore the basics of climate change - what is causing it, why it is a problem, and importantly, what can be done?

We’ll also introduce our Climate Emergency Training which helps people understand the Climate Emergency and respond to the risks, opportunities and responsibilities ahead.

We are delighted that the Cabinet Secretary for Net Zero, Energy and Transport, Michael Matheson will provide the key note address. And we’ll have further Scottish Government representation to explain more about Scotland’s plans in the lead up to COP26, and the opportunities and challenges ahead.

The presentations will be followed by a live facilitated Q&A to our panel of speakers:

  • Catherine Gee, Deputy Chief Executive of Keep Scotland Beautiful
  • Aoife Hutton, Climate Change Officer, Keep Scotland Beautiful
  • Gerard Howe, Deputy Director, COP26 and International Climate Change, Scottish Government
